Join our shared 2-day Marrakech to Zagora desert tour, the perfect option for travelers short on time who want to experience the stunning landscapes of southern Morocco. This group tour, with a maximum of 17 passengers, takes you through the High Atlas Mountains, Ait Ben Haddou, and the Draa Valley, ending with an incredible night under the stars in a Berber desert camp.

You’ll enjoy a camel trek at sunset, an overnight stay in the Zagora desert, and a night filled with traditional music and delicious Moroccan cuisine. This adventure is an ideal introduction to Morocco’s unique desert landscapes and Berber culture.

Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz – Zagora

Your adventure begins with a 7:30 AM departure from Marrakech, where you’ll travel through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of traditional Berber villages and stop for stunning photos.

Your first major stop is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its ancient mud-brick architecture. Many Hollywood blockbusters, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones, have been filmed here. You’ll have free time to explore, or you can join a guided tour for just €3 per person.

After a lunch break, continue toward Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” before crossing the Anti-Atlas Mountains to the lush Draa Valley, home to thousands of date palms and stunning fortified villages.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Zagora, where your camel caravan awaits. Enjoy a magical sunset camel ride through the desert before reaching your Berber camp, where a delicious Moroccan dinner is served under the stars. The night continues with traditional music and a warm campfire, making for an unforgettable desert experience.

Day 2: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the desert dunes. After a traditional Berber breakfast, ride your camel back to meet your driver.

The return journey includes another stop in Ouarzazate, where you’ll have time to explore the impressive Kasbah Taourirt and enjoy lunch at a local café. In the afternoon, continue back through the High Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech by 6:00 PM.

Good to Know

The Zagora desert has small dunes. If you want larger sand dunes, consider our 2-day tour to Erg Lihoudi or 3-day tour to Merzouga or Erg Chegaga.
This tour is available as a shared experience, but we can arrange a private tour upon request.
We require a 30% deposit to confirm your booking, with the balance payable upon departure.
