Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Boumalne Dades

Your 3-day shared desert tour starts at 7:30 AM from Marrakech. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages and stopping at scenic viewpoints.

Your first major stop is the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO-listed fortified village known for its appearance in Hollywood films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to explore the village, or you can join a guided tour (€3 per person).

After lunch in Ouarzazate, continue through Sakoura Village and Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its rose plantations. Finally, arrive at Dades Valley, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night in a traditional riad or hotel.

Overnight: Riad/Hotel in Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, continue your journey through the 1001 Kasbahs Route, stopping at the spectacular Todra Gorge—a natural canyon with towering cliffs perfect for exploring and photography.

After lunch (not included), drive past Rissani, home to Morocco’s largest date market, before arriving at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga.

Meet your camel caravan and embark on a 1.5-hour camel trek into the desert, enjoying the breathtaking Sahara sunset along the way. At your desert camp, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, followed by Berber drum music around a campfire under a sky filled with stars.

Overnight: Berber desert camp in Merzouga (standard or luxury tent).

Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, ride your camel back to meet your driver.

On the return journey, stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before crossing the High Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech, arriving around 6:00 PM.
