Our 4-day trek with camel caravan in Morocco begins in Zagora, but we can also arrange departures from the surrounding areas to suit your preferences.

3 Nights / 4 Days Morocco Camel Trek:

This multi-day trek offers a rich tapestry of landscapes, from the lush oasis of the Draa Valley to the rugged mountains and the endless sand dunes. It’s a must-do experience when visiting Morocco, and it’s easily accessible if you’re arriving from Marrakech via an overnight bus to Zagora or Mhamid.

4-DAY ITINERARY:

DAY 1: Zagora ❯ Tjiniya

Our journey kicks off from Zagora around 9:00 am. Camels, camelmen, and a cook await you at the starting point, with baggage loaded onto camels. We embark on a camel trek across the Elfayja flat desert, a region recently used for seasonal agriculture by former nomads. Lunch is enjoyed in the shade of a locust tree, followed by a night in bivouac at Hassi Tjiniya, nestled at the foot of the Bani mountains.

DAY 2: Tjiniyai ❯ Lamrayer

After breakfast, we trek across Jebel Bani at Tjiniya pass (1095m high), a 3-4 hundred-meter denivelé ascent. Lunch is savored under the oasis trees’ shade, and then we journey to Lamrayer sand dunes, offering a breathtaking view of the golden and well-shaped dunes. Marvel at the sunset from the dunes’ top as we spend the night nearby.

DAY 3: Lamrayer ❯ El Mezouaria

Following breakfast, we set out for El Mezouaria, not far from the Erg Lihoudi. Lunch is taken under the shade of a tamarisk tree, and our trek continues, revealing more of the Sahara’s natural beauty. We arrive at stunning dunes before sunset, where we set up camp and spend the night beneath the starlit sky.

DAY 4: El Mezouaria ❯ M’hamid ❯ Zagora

Awaken early to witness the desert’s mesmerizing sunrise. After breakfast, we begin our trek towards Mhamid, passing through different desert landscapes. We pause for lunch and then continue walking until we reach the road, where we bid farewell to the camels. Transport awaits to take us back to Zagora.
